The Peekskill Coffee House is one of those places I wish was closer to where I lived.  It’s bright, airy, and has plenty of space to sit and just chill.  The eclectic mix and match of vintage tables and chairs come in all sizes to accommodate the individual reader to smaller group chats.

The Coffee House recently expanded into a space next door, and they now serve crepes and waffles in addition to the small collection of yummy sandwiches and pastries to go with your coffee/espresso/tea beverage of choice.

I chose an Americano and an Adam & Eve Crepe as my breakfast on this sunny Sunday morning.  The Adam & Eve crepe contained turkey, fig, carmelized onion, and goat cheese.  Being new to the crepes, there was a bit of a backlog as two people worked feverishly to fill the orders as they kept rolling in.  After a bit of a wait (maybe 15-20 min) as I slowly sipped my very hot Americano, my name was finally called!

The crepe was worth the wait.  The combination of the sweet carmelized onions accentuated by the figs and contrasted by the tang of the goat cheese made it work very well.

Crepe demolished, we noticed that there was no more backlog, and ordered one of the delicious looking waffles.  We got one topped with fresh mixed berries and some whipped cream.

The waffle was perfect.  Crispy outside, soft inside.  The amount of strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream on top was just right.  Enough to get some in every bite, but not so much to overwhelm and make the waffle mushy.

The czar says:  I always wished the Peekskill Coffee House was closer to me, and now I really really wish it was.  However, now I might have to insert it into my rotation of lazy weekend breakfast places.  Worth the trip, especially if looking for a non-fussy place to meet friends.
